FHI, Short Residency | Reading group with Jodi Dean

You are invited to join a discussion of Mahdi Ahmel's "Arab Marxism and National Liberation" as part of Jodi Dean's Short Residency at the John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute. Ahmel is one of the most important Arab Marxist thinkers. To get acquainted with his thought, attendees will read and discuss two essays where he theorizes the colonial mode of production. The goal of the meeting will be to figure out how he expands/changes understandings of Marxism and of the colonial relation.
