Catherine Ji Won Lee is a PhD Candidate in English. Her dissertation, “Romantic Humility: Literature, Ethico-Politics, and Emotion, 1780-1820,” examines the emergence of a form of secular humility in literary writings from the Romantic period that does not focus on self-abasement but on selflessness. During summer 2021, Lee worked with Bridget Bell from Durham Tech on a project to diversify the curriculum for general education courses (British Literature I and II).
