“Asia” in the Making of American Religiosity: A View from North Carolina

This lab focuses not only on the diverse religious life of Asian Americans but also on the transformation of Asian religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Daoism, and Confucianism in America. The lab will study the complex phenomenon of the transformation of Asian religions, asking how historically grounded Asian religions, with their social and cultural specificities, change the cultural terrain in America, and are themselves changed by it.
