Meghan G. McDowell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History, Politics, and Social Justice at Winston-Salem State University. Her published work addresses forms of state violence, incarceration regimes, and popular resistance, appearing in peer-reviewed journals such as Theoretical Criminology, Critical Criminology, and Social Justice, as well as numerous edited collections.
McDowell will be collaborating with the Humanities Unbounded Lab “ReValuing Economies of Care” directed by Jocelyn Olcott and Jessica Namakkal, and her work will also align with the Social Movements Lab and the From Slavery to Freedom Lab at the Franklin Humanities Institute.
