Meghan Woolley is a Ph.D. candidate in the Duke University History Department, with a focus on Anglo-Norman England. My dissertation research looks at the intersection between law, emotions, and aristocratic culture in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. In particular, I ask how the emotional norms and behavior of aristocratic men and women shaped the lived experience of legal culture, as it developed around the emergence of the English Common Law.
