Microworlds Lab, co-director
Nicole Barnes researches public health and medicine in twentieth-century China from a gendered perspective, incorporating the changing life stories of men and women into her analysis of how health regulations and medical practices reflect Chinese society's principal values as well as the assumptions and political goals of state actors. She co-directed the MicroWorlds Lab in Fall 2019. Her course "History of Chinese Medicine" (HIST 239) was an embedded course in the Lab.
