Black Music and the Soul of America, co-director
Thomas Brothers has published three books on Louis Armstrong, including Louis Armstrong Master of Modernism (W. W. Norton & Co., 2014), which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in biography. He regularly teaches in African-American music and rock, as well as in the medieval and renaissance periods. Brothers is a director of the Black Music and the Soul of America lab.
